How to: Use Tag Updater
Tag Updater is a small command-line tool to use with Deep Zoom Composer and a Silverlight 2.0 viewer.
The screenshots below demonstrate the small part it plays in creating a tag-aware Deep Zoom website. Broadly, the steps are:
- Firstly, you must have metadata in your images
- Use Deep Zoom Composer to create a new project, import and (optionally) lay-out your images
- Export a Deep Zoom Collection
- RUN TAG UPDATER
- Copy the supplied .XAP and .HTML files into the Web folder (and check the Html is correct)
- View your new Deep Zoom Tag Browser!
Add metadata to your images with a program like iTag
Add your images to a new Deep Zoom Composer project
Once the export is complete, choose Preview in Browser to see how it looks
Once the export is complete, choose View Image Folder to see the actual output
Open the Xml file to verify that there is no metadata in there (yet)
Run Tag Updater with the Metadata.xml as parameter
Open the Xml file again - the metadata has been extracted and available for Silverlight to present
Use the 'supplied' .HTML and .XAP files (based on Kirupa's Tag Sample)
Open the Html to verify the file paths are correct
Double-click on the .HTML file to view the Deep Zoom Tag Browser!
